Madison Boender, tLMHC, ATR-p, has been a member of Optimae LifeServices’ behavioral health team since 2024 and sees customers in Knoxville, serving individuals ages 6 and up.

Madison has experience serving populations with depression, grief, anxiety, trauma and transitions in foster care. Madison is deeply committed to the art-making process and self-compassionate practices. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and integrates narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and art as therapy.

Madison is passionate about utilizing art as a vessel to tell one’s story, respond to complex emotions, and embody a compassionate perspective. She invites individuals to engage in the transformative process of making art that enhances coping skills, expands perspectives and allows for a creative response to life’s challenges.

Madison earned her bachelor’s degree from Central College and her Master of Arts in art therapy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana.
