Stutes named clinical supervisor at Optimae

May 21, 2024 (BURLINGTON) – Optimae Behavioral Health Setvices, a division of Optimae LifeServices, announced today that it has named Denise Stutes, LISW, clinical supervisor in its southeastern Iowa region.

Stutes brings more than a decade of experience to her position as a therapist for Optimae Behavioral Health Services. She has served as a domestic violence advocate and an adjunct instructor in sociology at Southeastern Community College. She also worked in an inpatient medical environment including emergency room, critical care, medical/surgical, pediatrics, psychiatry, oncology and obstetrics. Stutes also provided mental health services for twelve years to inmates in corrections facilities, which included the Des Moines County and Lee County jails. At Optimae, she has provided psychotherapy and has served as a member of the crisis assessment team and Optimae’s advisory board.

In her new role as clinical supervisor, Stutes will oversee the Des Moines County and Lee County offices and Optimae’s crisis programs. She will also provide lead clinical support to Optimae’s recovery and resource centers.

Stutes graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work. She was the graduating class speaker and recipient of the Shirley Wattenberg scholarship.
