Nov. 7, 2024 (DES MOINES) – Optimae Behavioral Health Services, a division of Optimae LifeServices, announced today that it has named Erik Gustafson, Ph.D., clinical supervisor in its central Iowa region.
After honorably retiring from the Air Force in 2008, Gustafson has been leading teams and providing services in both the human services and mental health fields. His experience includes skill work and therapy with several populations including people with intellectual disabilities, young children, adolescents, adults and families.
In his role as clinical supervisor, Gustafson will oversee Optimae Behavioral Health’s ten central Iowa offices.
“We are delighted to have Erik at Optimae,” said Tracy Liptak, behavioral health operations officer at Optimae. “He lives and breathes our core values of choice, respect, teamwork and education — and he brings both knowledge and kindness to the team.”
Gustafson holds a doctorate in general psychology with an emphasis in family therapy and did his dissertation on the effects of growing up in a home where a parent had post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from combat. He is also a certified Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator.
