Seanan Thomas brings more than six years of social work experience to Optimae Behavioral Health Services. Her career has spanned various positions at a domestic violence shelter, a residential facility for youth aging out of foster care and a Rapid Rehousing program.
Through these experiences, Seanan learned and strengthened a trauma-informed and strengths-based case management practice. She has a passion for addressing critical social issues that include homelessness, abuse, neglect and poverty.
Seanan received her Master of Social Work from the Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW) at the University of Houston. During graduate school, Seanan worked as a research assistant to aid in developing the “Charge-up!” intervention to improve mental health supports for youth enrolled in Rapid Rehousing programs across Texas. Seanan also had the unique privilege of serving as a clinical intern with the Brené Brown Research and Education Group, where she learned to practice both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing Brené Brown’s curriculums for shame resilience.
