Pat Huebner-Vaughan

LISW, Therapist

Pat Huebner-Vaughan brings two decades of counseling experience in addictions to her position as a therapist at Optimae Behavioral Health Services. She uses attachment and strength-based approaches to therapy and embraces a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed view, using a person-centered and interpersonal approach to partner with clients in their therapy experience.

Her experience in addictions treatment has made her proficient in helping clients understand the relationship between behavioral/emotional symptoms and substance abuse issues that are often generational and are incorporated in our family and community cultures.

Pat works with clients of all ages and stages of life to address the depression, anxiety and grieving processes that occur with pivotal stages in the lifespan as we grow, age and redefine our role in our family and our community. She specializes in the needs of the aging as they face the uncertainties that come with the challenges of retirement, grief and loss of a spouse/partner or parent, accepting and adjusting to injury or chronic illness or the stressors of providing care to an aging family member.

Pat earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Western Illinois University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Iowa.
