Lisa Kongable is a board-certified psychiatric mental health clinical nurse specialist (PMHCNS-BC) and advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). She is also a certified nurse educator and a member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She has been with Optimae since 2000 and specializes in meeting a variety of adult psychiatric-mental health care needs.

Lisa has worked in the psychiatric mental health field for nearly 40 years and has a passion for caring for patients and families experiencing mental health issues. Lisa has also been employed in the Behavioral Health Department at University of Iowa Health Care since 1986 and currently serves in the ARNP role in the Adult Psychiatry Clinic. She is a member of the eating disorder treatment program leadership team there.

In addition to her clinical specialist role, Lisa has been a nursing professor for over 25 years and currently travels across the country presenting psychiatric-mental health nursing certification review courses for MED-ED. She also routinely presents on mental health topics at conference events on a local, state and national level. Lisa is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and has served as a past president of this professional nursing organization.

Lisa has won several awards including the APNA Iowa Chapter Clinical Leadership Award and 100 Great Nurses of Iowa.
