Angela Dossett has expertise in aiding and supporting major depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, substance abuse, psychotic disorders, sleep disorders and chronic mental illness for clients eight years old and across the lifespan. Her mindful and compassionate approach to healing allows her to connect with individuals in an open, judgment-free environment. In addition to specializing in the treatment and remission of mental illness, she also specializes in thinking outside the box and looking at all pieces of the puzzle to achieve solutions. Her ability to explain and educate encourages her clients to take ownership of their mental health and become wholly themselves.

Angela obtained her BSN from Iowa Wesleyan College and immediately started working in medical/surgical nursing at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Throughout her time at UIHC, she worked inpatient med/psych unit, adult, geriatric and child inpatient units, emergency department with psychiatric patients to help stabilize and assess. Angela has experience working on a crisis stabilization team as director of nursing, as well as a clinical supervisor for psychiatry and providing medication management in an outpatient clinic.

Angela received her master’s degree from Walden University. She is a recipient of the Daisy Award for excellence in nursing practice.
