James Jensen has over two decades of experience in the health and human services field that assists him in his position at Optimae LifeServices, where he serves as the director of electronic health records (EHR). As the director of EHR, James oversees the implementation and use of the electronic health record softwares that allow Optimae’s programs to track, manage and bill for the services they provide.
Prior to joining Optimae in 2013, James worked as a living skills advisor at the Christian Opportunity Advisor, a BHIS caseworker at Lutheran Services in Iowa and family support worker at EveryChild (formerly the Child Abuse Council). James began his employment with Optimae LifeServices as a community services and peer support team lead. In the fall of 2016, James transitioned to his current position, which began as an EHR implementation specialist and eventually evolved into a director position.
James graduated from Central College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He has continued his education by earning a career certificate in electronic health records management from Ashworth College, becoming certified by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) as a Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS), earning a digital project manager certificate from Simlilearn and a post-graduate certificate in business analysis from Purdue University. James is also an active member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and is currently working toward becoming a certified business analysis professional (CBAP).
