October 10, 2023 (DES MOINES) – Optimae Home Health Services, a division of Optimae LifeServices, was recently awarded CHAP Accreditation in its Central Iowa region under the Community Health Accreditation Partner, Inc. (CHAP) Home Health Standards of Excellence. This marks the fourth three-year accreditation the Central Iowa division has received from CHAP. By achieving CHAP Accreditation, Optimae has also been deemed to meet Medicare Conditions of Participation and is certified as a Medicare provider.
The accreditation followed an in-depth self-study and three-day site visit with a CHAP surveyor that included field visits with nursing and home care aides, review of all HR files and review of charts, policies and procedures.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment for our Central Iowa Home Health Team,” said Meghan Foster, Optimae’s Chief Operations Officer for Central Iowa. “One of Optimae’s core values is teamwork, and this was very much a collective effort. Because of the team’s dedication to provide quality services and commitment to Optimae’s mission and vision, they were able to achieve this win and deserve all the recognition for their efforts.”
CHAP Accreditation demonstrates that Optimae meets the industry’s highest nationally recognized standards. The rigorous evaluation by CHAP focuses on structure and function, quality of services and products, human and financial resources and long-term viability. Simply stated, adherence to CHAP’s standards leads to better quality care.

By offering skilled nursing and home health aides, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy, Optimae Home Health Services allows customers to continue living in their homes while receiving accessible medical care. The division expanded to Central Iowa in 2015 and serves customers in Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Story and Warren counties.
CHAP is an independent, not-for-profit, accrediting body for community-based health care organizations. Created in 1965, CHAP was the first to recognize the need and value for accreditation in community-based care. CHAP is the oldest national, community-based accrediting body with more than 9,000 agencies currently accredited nationwide. Through “deeming authority” granted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CHAP has the regulatory authority to survey agencies providing home health, hospice and home medical equipment services, to determine if they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and CMS Quality Standards. CHAP’s purpose is to define and advance the highest standards of community-based care.
