Kay Simons, PMHNP-BC, joined Optimae LifeServices in 2026 and practices out of the Des Moines office, providing care to individuals across the lifespan.
Kay is an empathetic and attentive practitioner who treats a broad range of mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety. She especially enjoys counseling individuals, navigating life management challenges and values creating a supportive, person-centered environment grounded in excellent listening and collaboration.
With over 33 years of nursing experience, Kay’s background includes inpatient and outpatient behavioral health as well as community-based outreach. She remains committed to advocating for quality care and optimal outcomes for her clients. Kay earned her associate degree in nursing from Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona, and her master’s degree in nursing from Walden University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
